Chicago to New Zealand Flights

Air New Zealand have re-started their Chicago to Auckland non-stop service, operating 3 times a week, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. With the recent introduction of their 3 days a week New York to Auckland flights, there are now more opportunities than ever for visitors from the US to visit and enjoy New Zealand. Other Air New Zealand US departures points are Houston, Los Angeles and San Francisco.

These flights also offer seamless onward connections to Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and other Australia cities.

Air New Zealand fly Boeing 787 Dreamliners between Chicago and Auckland three times a week, United Airlines said in a news release Tuesday. Air New Zealand is one of Chicago-based United’s Star Alliance partners. The two airlines will “code share” on about 100 flights to Auckland connecting through Chicago, United said.

The 8,184-mile Chicago-Auckland flights will take about 15 to 16 hours, depending on whether passengers are flying northbound or southbound, and will top United’s second-longest route out of O’Hare, which lands in Hong Kong, by nearly 400 miles, United spokesman Jonathan Guerin said in an email.

United’s longest route overall, which connects Los Angeles and Singapore, covers 8,446 miles.

Tickets for nonstop flights between Chicago and Auckland are available on Air New Zealand’s website.
