After traveling to all corners of the world, in 1989 Jerry founded his first travel business called ‘Bridge the World’ based in London, UK, selling worldwide flights and holidays. By the time he sold the business in 2002 his company had achieved an annual turnover of close to USD100m and employed 150 staff.
In 2004 he launched his second travel company 'Bridge & Wickers’ this time specializing in tailor-made luxury holidays to Australia, New Zealand and Canada.
Soon afterwards he met his Kiwi wife-to-be and as a result made the move to his new home in Wellington, New Zealand’s capital city. Commuting between Wellington and London was never going to be a realistic option!
His love of New Zealand and the knowledge he has built up over many years as a New Zealand specialist is something he now shares with the customers of New Zealand Vacations.
Born in Wellington, New Zealand, Katie lived and worked in London for 10 years, working as a travel consultant and selling New Zealand vacations at some of the UK's largest travel firms.
Katie is keen to share her knowledge of New Zealand especially with those who are traveling with children (she has two youngsters of her own).
She has traveled extensively around both the North and South islands of New Zealand, including visits to what she describes as her favorite places of all, the Catlins and Stewart Island.
